As we serve the people of Nepal, multicultural teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organisations in 10 districts (six clusters and two hospitals), building partnerships that lead to healthy, dignified, and empowered individuals and transformed communities. UMN recognises a need for a growing awareness of disability and gender inclusion in Nepal thus wants to support this through its Disability Rehabilitation and Community Capacity for Peace Programmes.

Position: Project Officer – Disability and Gender (Woman only)
Location: Kapilvastu
The job holder is responsible to build the capacity and monitor UMN’s project implementing partners in the technical areas of Disability Inclusive Development (DID), disability rehabilitation, gender equity and Do No Harm (DNH) to achieve UMN’s and the partners’ strategic goals within Kapilvastu Cluster.
Qualification and experience:
Essential:
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or any relevant discipline with at least two years of relevant
working experience;
b. Good understanding of disability inclusive development, gender equity, youth mobilisation, and Do No Harm (DNH) approach in the context of development interventions;
c. Sound knowledge in advocacy and Right Based Approach;
d. Have good knowledge in managing development projects, planning, budgeting, reporting, and monitoring:
e. A good trainer and eager to build the capacity of others;
f. Good computer skills particularly in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, emails and the internet;
g. Excellent language and communication skills both in Nepali and English.
